Damage Waiver
Damage Waiver
Our Damage Waiver is optional and protects you from having to pay repair costs for accidental damage to a rental garmet, up to $100. It does not cover willful damage and does not go towards the cost of replacement, where the damage is irreparable. Read on for more info
What the Damage Waiver Covers (up to $100 per garment)
The Damage Waiver covers reasonable professional cleaning costs or professional repair (seamstress) fees resulting from accidental damage that occurs while the garment is in your care.
- Examples of Accidental Damage: Minor, unintentional spills (e.g., drink, food), small, accidental tears or snags, makeup stains that can be professionally removed, or loose embellishments.
What the Damage Waiver Does NOT Cover
The Damage Waiver does NOT cover:
- Willful or Intentional Damage: Damage caused deliberately or through gross negligence (e.g., use of fashion tape, cutting, burning, altering the garment, using harsh chemicals).
- Permanent or Irreparable Damage: Damage that cannot be fixed by professional cleaning or repair, rendering the garment unwearable or significantly devalued. This includes, but is not limited to, permanent stains (e.g., ink, bleach, dye), large rips, or extensive fabric damage.
- Loss or Theft: The complete loss or theft of the garment.
- Costs Exceeding the Cap: Any cleaning or repair costs that exceed the $100 coverage limit.
- Other Fees: Late return fees, loss of income for Style Rotate, or the full replacement cost of the garment.
Garment Replacement Policy
If a garment is deemed to require replacement due to:
- Willful or Intentional Damage, or
- Accidental Damage that is permanent or irreparable (i.e., cannot be restored to its original rentable condition through reasonable professional cleaning or repair), the renter will be billed for the full replacement cost of the garment. Replacement cost is based on the current retail price or a reasonable market value determined by Style Rotate. An itemised invoice will be provided.
Reporting Damage & Claims Process
- Report Promptly: You must report any damage to Style Rotate ASAP before your rental end time.
- Return Garment: The damaged garment must be returned by an agreed return method.
- Assessment: Style Rotate reserves the right to inspect the garment and make the final determination on whether the damage is covered by the waiver and the appropriate course of action (repair, cleaning, or replacement).
Important Notes
- The Damage Waiver is optional and applies only to the specific rental for which it was purchased.
- It is non-transferable and subject to Style Rotate’s final determination.
- This waiver does not negate your responsibility to care for the garment as outlined in our full Rental Terms and Conditions.
